"I have lived in the district for 10 years and have watched this school go from a failing system to one that is competative with local schools. There is much emphasis on the MEAP test which I believe is good. I am impressed with the principal's involvement with student achievement."

"This is my childs first year at Holton Middle School. I must say that I am very discouraged with the principals and teachers attitude. I believe that the childs welfare and future school success is being overlooked. I do not get the impression that parent involvement is encouraged. The overall grade the school receives [No child left behind act] is more important to the staff than the individual student. I truly feel many children are being 'left behind'. This being said, the school exterior and interior are meticulous and very attractive."

"Holton is a older school that is stuck in the old ways of thinking. I went there and now my children are. I think that 4 or 5 generations have gone there in our family. The olny thing that I would see different is the focus on sports is lowered and the focus on the kids is raised."
