"RUN AWAY! This small school has nothing to offer its students or its parents! If your child did not attend the year before, they can not enroll in any extra activites. The staff is not friendly! Just like other schools there are good and bad teachers... This one seems to have more bad then good. When asked about a PTO.. There is not one! When asked how a parent can be involved in school, we were told this is a middle school not Elementary! The library is not open before or after school due to the librarins choice! THIS IS A FACT!!! There is no art classes and they are very limited to only two sports teams. The guidence dept. is a joke!!! Run Away! Take a chance on a bigger school. Nothing is good about this school! I wanted to write this review because new friends of ours told us about a really bad school their child is attending and it turned out to be Umatilla middle school."

"I have two children at this school and have found that the teaching is excellent. The staff are professional and friendly. They are willing to discuss any issue that you may have. They are always in the corridor at class change time for close supervision of students and in maintaining student safety. Office staff are always welcoming and know the children well. This is most definately a 'small town' school where the education and personal development of children is at the top of the list. Parental involvement is encouraged at all times and the parents are always there to support the school especially at concerts and events. My kids love this school."

"I was pleasantly surprised over this school as I had never been there and didn't know anything about it until the day I was scheduled there. Good administration, peaceful atmosphere, kids in the library really learning. I think it comes from the 'small town' atmosphere and the roots that this gives the children. Very nice and involved staff and teachers. Good support to teachers and substitutes. No bad discipline problems that I was able to find the day I was there. A higher-quality Lake County school."

"i belive the behavior and leadership of the school is poor. i believe the student government needs to be more resonsable 'the president'. i hope the parents will take action"
