"The students at this school are highly motivated to perform well in academics and participate in extra-curricular activities. But I wonder how far all of these As will get a student if their psyches aren't intact at the end. The pressure to succeed is over the top. Many average kids, and remember most kids are average, are struggling to meet standards that are a bit out of reach. The result of all this pressure seems to be a group of well meaning students that are breaking down emotionally. . The students will tell you they work hard and party harder. They are performing, but at what cost. I would rather have a B student that is mentally healthy than an A student with anxiety problems they are self treating. Knowing what I know now, I would not have enrolled my kids in this school."

"This school has good test scores and etc, but it has a serious problem. A new policy completely bars freshmen from taking Algebra II, and I fear that it will spread to the point that the school doesn't let anyone challenge themselves. People are spoiled and most people probably buy their grades. The people have massive egos. Many of the teachers are awful. The only thing the school cares about is their reputation. There should be much more AP classes..."

"Favoritism runs highly here. You need your teachers to write you recommendations to get into the AP classes, as well as an entrence exam. Despite that I was in ALL accelerated classes, and stellar at math, they would not move me up into AP Math because kids with private tutors performed better than me on the entrence exam. Livingston on the other hand doesn't have an entrence exam to get into the AP classes, so its more fair for people who work hard and consistently perform well- and there is less favoritism."

"Great school system with an abundance of challenging course offerings. Faculty is very intelligent and accessible and overall student body is composed of motivated individuals. Extra-curricular offerings are also plentiful. I highly recommend this institution."

"Excellent teachers and academic offerings, but your child has to be able to navigate some fierce cliques. Mean girls do run amok here. Some very spoiled and provincial-thinking teens."
