"Just a tremendous school. Love the state of the art building (geothermal heat, Macs in the lab, "Smartboards", great library), the neighborhood is wonderful and safe, strong parental involvement. There is a real "family feel" about this school which I think comes from the principal on down. The diversity is a big plus, especially for a suburban Madison school. It offers a small town feel, with a cultural experience more reflective of the real world. Class size is wonderful, as our son has just 12 other students in his first grade class. His Kindergarten teacher last year was so unbelievably nurturing, and such a wonderful reading teacher, she really set the table nicely for future learning. This is a fun, safe and healthy place for children to learn. In a city with three excellent elementary schools and a school district with a great reputation around the area, we feel like we chose the best for our children."

"The 5 score reflects tests scores in which the results are skewed due to 40%+ of the school being native Spanish speakers. The bilingual kids test scores improve as their language skills improve, and Glacier Edge does a great job in that department. This school has amazing teachers and an energetic, fun, creative principal. All the teachers and support staff in Verona desire to work at this amazing school. Close knit neighborhoods surround the school (like East View for ex.) and there is an incredible new neighborhood in the district - Scenic Ridge. If you are moving to Verna I highly recommend GE and Scenic Ridge!!! Wonderful community of parents, staff,a dn an amazing small town feel."

"4 score?!?!? Crazy! I am so happy my kids are in one of the best elementary schools ever. This is our second year here. 2009-2010 I have 3 kids in K, 2nd and 3rd. The bldg is state of the art. Teachers are parent friendly, involved and many are top teachers in the state. They work together and with next grades up so well I feel each of my children are special. Staff and principal are even awesome! They know and interact with the children so well and that was pleasantly unexpected. Hispanic population brings diversity and kids experience hispanic culture and language at an early age. Our neighborhood is close by and there are many Madison area teachers that live in the area because of this great school. (can I say that?). Kids love gym swimming unit! Take the time to ask any parent or child and take a tour."
