"I have been going to Shipley since my 9th grade year. At first felt it was a preppy school and I didn't like it. However, by the end of my freshman year i came to enjoy my school. It is a great community where everyone is welcoming. Our school is now becoming more diverse i believe and I think it is a great school. Teachers are always willing to do whatever is necessary for their students. Also many bonds form between students and teachers. It truly is a good school. Going into my senior year I would not rather be anywhere else."

"I've been at this school since fifth grade, and i can honestly say I wouldn't rather be anywhere else. The enviroment in Shipley is just impeccable, and though the shool isnt perfect, it's darn near there. Most of the teachers are very nice, and as the for the ones who arent; well every highschool has them. The standard of education is better than any school in the area, the only school who even slightly rivals us is Haverford, and haverford is an all boys school, and the enviroment of single sex schools is much different from the rest. The arts would definetly have to be our strength, though we do have a few competitive athletic teams. The only problem I have with Shipley is the lack of diversity, and I believe we now have a diversity sector of admissions to work on that problem."

"I have been at Shipley for 10 years, since Kindergarten and I am now in 9th grade. I used to enjoy school very much, especially in lower school and in my early years of miidle school But now I am not enjoying it at all. There are huge racial and socioeconmic divisions within the student body and it causes tension, outcasts and bullying. Many of the teachers are less than enthusiastic about teaching and do not make learning fun or are just not very knowlegdeable . Although the school is supposed to be centered on academics school life is really all about athletics even though Shipley rarely has competitive teams. This causes more social outcasts and academic neglect. Moreover, the head of school, Dr. Piltch sounds very good while giving speeches but is never available or involved in school life."

"I have been going to this school for 8 years and I am in 7th grade, this is the greatest school ever! All the teachers are so nice, the only problem I have is their encouragment in the arts and drama and stuff, i would rather be out on the fields but i can deal with it, i only have music twice a week and i have sports and recess every day!"

"i love my school. shipley is a great place to learn, make friends, and have fun. the lower school teachers are very kind, and the facilities are wonderful. the middle school is awesome. the sixth and eigth grade teams are much above par. the seventh grade team is not quite up there, but still very good. kirsten small, the generations project, and the holocaust curriculum make this a memorable year. the upper school is wonderful. the athletics program is the best of any independent school's in the state, and the latin program is among the best in the country. shipley is an amazing school."
