"Have experienced many of the same issues with teachers and principlal not addressing issues when called upon. They would rather ignore an issue than deal with it. Called the principal at the grade school and never got a returned phone call. Hoping it will change at the middle school and high school."

"Kaneland High School is disappointing at best . Several teachers hand out packets at start of class for students to work on rather than teaching. This is not providing students with a college ready experience as their vision indicates is a priority. Teachers often wait days if phone calls are returned at all. Inappropriate comments made by a teacher reported to the District office were not addressed. School states they take a stance on bullying but there are teachers within the school that encourage and even taunt themselves. There are some excellent teachers but they are few and far between and their hard work is ruined by the majority who are disinterested and appear to be there only to collect a paycheck. Some graduates now teach in the elementary school and the writing skills displayed are horrible. I am very concerned and have found school and district leadership to be disengaged. The late start Thursday for staff meetings should be done before school. Pulling students out of the classroom time to sit and socialize because teacher contracts limit hours we can ask them to work is only a symptom of a much larger problem."

"My school is amazing. The teachers really challenge their students and the student services encourages all students to get involved and ready for college. There are a lot of opportunities for all students no matter what their goals or interests are. Kaneland High School is so student centered and is the BEST. The Fox Valley Career Center also have many classes for students to take. I am lucky to be part of the Kaneland community and a student at the high school."

"Kaneland seems to be rapidly declining in their "quality" education. The cliques and society problems at this school seem to be taking the place of education. My daughter is a sophmore there and is doing very poorly. While there is the rare teacher who seems to care and show an interest in helping the students, most don't seem to care unless the student comes from a prominent community or sports family. This is NOT how their education should be based and Kaneland should be ashamed of themselves for allowing their school to get this bad. Since it begins in there elementary schools though, one should not be too surprised to find it in the high school and middle schools as well. We are pulling all three of our children out of Kaneland to go to another district or for homeschooling since our concerns have not been addressed and were laughed at."

"Way below standard school teachers arent the best and don't work hard most classes my kids didnt have to try at all, the counselors are very poor and hard to contact. also the school is losing lots of money and gives exceptions to any students that have their parents call in to complain. overall an aweful school"
