"Our son is doing rather well at Waldport High School. For the most part, the teachers seem to be able to motivate and engage their students. We have friends whose kids graduated from this school and are doing well at college. The school is small, as is the community. Kids whose parents are involved seem to succeed. Community members continue to support the school, even as their kids graduate and move on."

"The available academic programs get fewer each year. As for extras, they re getting to be fewer with high prices."

"I believe that the academic quality of Waldport High School has dropped and is continuing to do so. There are only the basic classes for students to take. The cost of extracurricular activities is outrageous and with the economy of Waldport, students cannot afford to participate in sports. I believe in order to push our children academically, there have to be more opportunities for children. When confronted with a few of the high school students, I asked them to let me read some of their papers that were submitted to teachers for reports...the writing skills (spelling, grammar, etc.) were terrible. We as parents should be more involved with the schools, guaranteed, but when we do approach school staff, we are treated like we are invading on their territory. It is really a shame how Waldport High School has progressed."
