"Our youngest daughter moved to KRHS from FHS when it first opened, and though everyone was enthusiastic about the "new school" it was difficult to leave the long-standing traditions and familiar faces behind. The students, as well as the faculty and staff, really rose to the occasion and developed school spirit, established traditions, and had enormous pride for what they collectively accomplished. It was impressive. Academically, we couldn't have asked for more. It was truly challenging (without too much drudgery) and was definitely rigorous enough to prepare students for VA's stellar state universities. For example, our daughter tested into junior level French her freshman year at university even though she had only completed French III (honors) at Kettle Run. The handful of negative experiences that prevent me from giving Kettle Run a full five star rating really boil down to management issues within the Athletic, and extra-curricular programs. I can only hope these have resolved themselves with time and the persistence of parents and students calling for change. Overall, we couldn't have asked for more and are grateful to have been a part of the KRHS family!"

"Good school for avarage/above avarage student. Unfortunately, getting LD support for your child is pretty tough at Kettle Run."
