"I can only comment on the experiences myself and my sons had while they attended this school from 2006 through 2009. We moved to the area from a town in north NJ that had a pretty good school system so the quality of schools was naturally an important factor in deciding to move. I must say that, with very few exceptions, I was very pleased with the teachers, principal and over-all education that both of my sons received. The teachers, athletic coaches and principal went out of their way to make sure our kids were comfortable in the new surroundings. Were there some isloated issues? Yes, but tell me one school that doesn't have any issues at all. I attended public schools in the Bronx, including a high school in a poor neighborhood, and received a very good education, in spite of my parents totally lack of involvement and classes with upwards of 35 kids. If kids want to learn I have found that teachers respond to that and will do their best to make sure those kids learn...Those kids and parents who don't care are only making it more difficult on themselves and their classmates. Responsibility: it's everyone's job."

"This is an awful school. Indifferent teachers. some are actually verbally abusive. There's an art teacher who, in front of the entire class asked several students whether they had ADHD in front of the entire class! In addition Parent Teacher conferences are actively discouraged. After having our child attend a wonderful public elementary school in Warwick for 6 years, it was a shock to see how bad the Middle School is. We're pulling our child out and using private school next semester. i was warned many years ago about WVMS but now understand fully that this school is a complete horror show."

"The administration is uncommunicative, avoids contact with parents and treats teachers with indifference, playing favorites. I agree with the previous poster that parents are discouraged from any involvement at the school. There needs to be a top-down housecleaning. Fortunately, the majority of the faculty are dedicated professionals who do a fantastic job in spite of the Principal. The occasional, do-nothing teacher, is rare but they manage to still do a lot of damage. It is a shame that so much potential is held back by the administrators."

"I am extremely disappointed with WVCS Middle School and the leadership, or lack of leadership, from the Principal. 6th graders are treated like cattle. They are crammed in classrooms. Absolutely no space for their books or coats. Not enough space or time for lunch. Classrooms and bathrooms are not well maintained. Running water is BROWN! This middle school looks like a PS in the inner city from the 1980's. Parents are discouraged from volunteering. Communication from the school to parents does not exsist. Very, very disappointed."

"The Warwick Valley Middle School is a great school. It is filled with many teachers that genuinely care about the kids who go there. They are academically comparable to the best schools in New York State. They offer a wide variety of programs and extracurricular activities."
