Topic: Overall Experience
"Overall, I've had a wonderful experience at WHHS. I've had the opportunity to start clubs, create brand new events, take part in the theatre program, school newspaper, and athletic teams. Our principal does an outstanding job of keeping things together. I do feel that I have learned a significant amount. In some classes, I learned a lot by teaching myself. However, in many classes, such as AP Calculus AB and BC, AP Art History, Spanish 2, 4, and 5, English Honors 10 and 11, Film Studies, and Physics CP, I was really lucky to have motivated, intelligent educators. Some of my more specific favorite experiences include spirit week rallies, watching my sister perform in the school musical, Curtains, and getting to take AP Art History during the first year it is being offered at WHHS. WHHS is unique because of the breadth of extracurricular opportunities offered. We have the basic clubs like theatre, newspaper, and sports. However, we also have clubs as quirky as ping pong club, philosophy club, and Students Against Destructive Decisions club. I would definitely choose my school again. I made wonderful friends and got into the college of my dreams."
"I have a had a few teachers (mostly in the English and Spanish departments) that have gone above and beyond to make sure I succeed in my studies. I've had teachers who put in remarkable effort every day to dress nice, have a positive attitude, plan field trips, interesting lesson plans, etc. However, I'm sad to say I've come across too many teachers who simply don't care. They don't care about their students' futures and they seem to just be too tired to try."
