"There is a wonderful atmosphere at this school...teachers bring an excitement for learning to their classes. The Principal and administrative staff in all areas are kind and supportive. Policies there create a safe environment that focuses on rewarding positive behavior rather than reacting to negative behavior."

"HKC is comparatively one of the better schools in the county. There is a wide mix of socioeconomic classes. The teachers we have experienced in the past four years seem to be very in tuned to the children's needs, and communicating with parents when initiated. They have many programs and activities for children and families, though I personally have found it difficult to gain information to be involved in the PTA, but there is an active PTA at the school. The office staff are friendly and helpful. The school is a little old, and hopefully will be renovated soon, but functional, and clean--the mold was quickly and appropriately taken care of after perfectly logical rationale regarding its growth--construction during the hot summer months--the staff encourage ID passes--it is posted, and the parents should follow this request to promote everyone's safety.--overall, it's a four, I think. My kids like it too."
