"Overcrowded, poor campus traffic control, lacks adequate supervision of students when not in class i.e. before school doors open in am (supposed to open at 7:20 am, but that's hit and miss) and during lunch/recess time; with so many students I am concerned for my children's safety. Teaching staff is fair however the unprofessional demeanor of the administrative staff and administration is lacking (i.e. gossiping about parents, students, and other staff within earshot of other parents is never a good look). Perhaps hiring parents of current students is not a wise choice. )"

"OME is a great school -- not sure what some of these reviewers are talking about? I have been a parent at the school since 2007 & no school is perfect. Overall OME is a wonderful school. They don t allow cell phones/iPods in classrooms. They don t allow bullying. Any issue that is considered bullying is dealt with promptly by the principal. They are not all about fundraising. The PTA does the majority of fundraising for the school. With budget cuts, schools don't have any money for extra-curricular activities. Unfortunately, it IS the parents that ultimately have to pay for these extra things through fundraisers. Blame the State, not the school. The PTA is not hard to break into. You can go to the front office tomorrow & ask to be on the PTA & you would be welcomed. Truth is many parents don't realize how much of a commitment it takes to be on a PTA, so they THINK they want to be on it & then don't show up after they work the first event! The office staff is nice. They have to follow school district rules; parents can t just do whatever they want at the school! The principal has an open door policy. You may have to make an appointment with him because he s busy running a school!"

"Second year at this school and gladly last year! I read the academic and scores reviews before moving my son to this school and that is the reason I decided to enroll him. But oh surprise the two years he is been at this school his grades went down as well as his confidence. Teachers are definitely not involved as far as the academic progress of your child but rather on fundraising matters. This whole two years haven't heard of any extracurricular activities that the school holds and if there is we were definitely not informed. We also had more than one bullying incident and the principal did not do anything about it. We got the run around even though the bullying continued nothing was done. What kind of teacher let students have their iPod/cell phones during class anyway and then claim they didn't know anything about it when the devices are being used during the class. Very disappointed of the school and the staff, wish I would have known before having my son in here for two years. Definitely have to watch out and be aware of the stuff that happens on a daily basis because teachers rather not to anything about it."

"This is our first year at this school, and, so far, so good! Luckily I haven't experienced what some of the other reviewers have. I have found it to be, overall, a positive experience. The teachers seem very involved with their students and the parents I have met have been very pleasant. Having worked at schools myself, I know that no school is perfect, but this one is very nice!"

"My daughter has been going there for two years now and I really don't like the school. I think the teachers are awesome and really care about the kids, but the staff are extremely rude! (on the phone and in person) I attended a award ceremony this morning where the school officials were rushing the kids practically pushing them into the doors of the lunch room. It was ridiculous. If you don't like your job you definitely shouldn't be working with kids. I don't like that they don't keep the parents informed of anything unless it has to do with raising money for the school. I am never notified of how my child is doing until the progress report comes out or I get a report card. The main problem like I said is the staff in front office. I don't ever remember going to school and it being like this. The principle seemed to be a nice guy also but after a meeting with him in his office talking over my concerns I just seemed to get the run around. He tells you what he thinks you want to hear or tells excuse after excuse. Hopefully we are moving before this school year is over because I really don't like this school."
