"I am a Wood student currently and I in 7th grade. I live in West Linn but I still go to Wilsonville schools because West Linn schools including Rosemont Ridge Middle School is too clique-y. There are some flaws but nobody and nothing is perfect. If I were a parent I would recommend my child to go here due to the fact that everybody is welcomed no matter your intelligence level, race, friends, you are welcomed by everybody. The teachers are very helpful now, they encourage you to go get help before at lunch and after school. It isn't as academic as Rosemont but for people like me, it is very hard to make any friends. The sense of community lacks in West Linn , but Wilsonville... it is an ideal place for your kid to go. There are lots of creative clubs and sports for kids to have fun. As a kid who has lots of experience with this school, I say I love this school."

"This school was the best thing that could of happened to me. I don't know what some of you parents are talking about especially the one who only read the review it. You have no idea what you are talking about. I have been at this school for all three years, and it was great. You got some bad info from somewhere, and I am a student so I would think I would know what it's about. The teachers and staff have zero tolerance for drama and bullying there are systems but in place to prevent that and to talk with someone. Homework is collected regularly and you have math homework everyday, and homework in other classes is very rare not to get. It's not the schools fault is YOUR child doesn't show up for school. Teachers are great at this school and always fit students into their busy schedule who are willing to put in the extra time to get help with work etc. The only students who get to use the audio books are the students who have trouble reading and even then they have to follow along in the book. I wish I could write more about how amazing this school was to me, and how much I loved it and everyone in it. And our principal works very hard to make Inza R. Wood Middle School great!"

"Wood middle school is a great place to meet people, there are many opportunities to make friends and many group projects that don't put all the weight on one person and a variety of classes that students may pick to meet people with the same interests. The education in advanced classes is a little rocky but the teachers usually do have scheduled times where students can come get help if needed. The 6th grade science teacher Mrs.Juras is amazing, she's firm but fair and does so many interesting projects with the kids that make them want to go to class. All in all for the people who rate this school as 1 star are probably 6th grade parents. I want to tell them that the first year is crazy and the kids need more organizing tips but after that it calms down and is an amazing place to learn."

"If you care about learning and academic progress for your child, this school will be a huge disappointment. Based on the descriptions for the ratings, I don't even want to give the school one star. This school needs a complete revamp. There is no focus on learning/teaching. In Reading, 8th graders listen to an audio book and then the teacher posts a Summary on the screen for them to read on your own. There are minimal class discussions. In Science, they make foldable vocabulary terms and then do a Chapter Review. The actual chapters are never assigned or reviewed in class. Attendance is very low; on half days, many kids skip school altogether. Math homework is very rarely collected. Most teachers do the bare minimum and kids sit around in class. There is very little accountability required by the teachers. There is an issue with theft within the school as well. Gifted students are not challenged, and children who struggle will not receive the support they need. The Art and Spanish teachers are excellent. Overall, I do not recommend this school. It is much lower in quality than the other schools within the district."

"The educators here need to go back to schOol and learn how to COMMUNICATE TO PARENTS IN A TIMELY MANNER and HOW TO PREPARE KIDS TO BE INDEPENDANT LEARNERS. some teachers are great but they have to follow the convoluted plan of the principal...which does not work. Parents do not know anything is missing or needs their further attention until after a semester's grades have been given! The technology they use to post grades online is not effective and the teachers tell me it's hard to use. Some of them doesn't even post updates online."
