"To the former student who asserts that Roosevelt has a 76% COLLEGE dropout rate: Where are you getting your statistics from? I haven't been able to find out any info on Roosevelt alumni college dropout rates. Are you referring instead to the percentage of Roosevelt students who drop out of Roosevelt? According to the Texas Education Agency (TEA) the overall percentage of kids who dropped out of Roosevelt was approximately 11.5% as of 2011 (the last year for which stats are available). They offer no stats on DATA or ETA because their numbers are folded in with Roosevelt's numbers. As someone who is considering sending two of my kids to either DATA or ETA I would love to know where you are getting your information from so that I can do my own follow up research."

"I was a student at Roosevelt high school for 4 years, and I have to say the in ETA at least is friendly. The band program is fun, they don't care about competitions, but they have fun, and thats what its all about. The ETA Program has outstanding teachers, all of which are very dedicated to their students, in trying to help them succeed. However outside of ETA the quality of the School drops off the side of a cliff. Gangs, Bullying, Drugs just to name a few problems. However being in The ETA Program Limits interaction with General Population to a bare minimum. So if your in the ETA Program it's a good school, however if your in DATA or regular. Well get out while you can. Collage Dropout Rates - Roosevelt Regular 76% - Data 52% - ETA 3 %"

"We just moved to this area and my son hasn't even started at the school. Went to orientation day and was already bullied. I don't plan on keeping him at this school."

"I had heard many bad things about Roosevelt before my children started attending. I thought I was in the Madison HS district (it's much closer to my house), but, it turns out that we are on the "wrong side of the tracks", apparently so my kids go to Roosevelt. The school wasn't quite as bad as I had heard, but it isn't good either. There is no school spirit, TONS of drama, low parent involvement, and plenty of lazy, "I'm just here for the check" teachers. There ARE some very good teachers there. They aren't all bad. But I would say half of the ones I have interacted with are incompetent. The other problem (which I'm sure affects the teachers' willingness) is that these kids are SO disrespectful!! It's ridiculous. The "few bad apples" are rotting the whole bunch as time goes on. The discipline is not consistent and the kids are allowed to get away with way too much. I don't have first-hand knowledge about the magnet program. I've heard some good things about it, but I honestly could not in good conscience, recommend this school to anyone."

"I was a student at Roosevelt high school for 2 years, and I have to say the population here is friendly, and it all seems like a big family. The band program, despite being not great, is fun. They don't care about competitions, but they have fun, and thats what its all about. The ETA Program has outstanding teachers, and all of the teachers are very dedicated to their students, in trying to help them suceed. There are a few bad apples, but what school doesn't have any?"
