"I wouldn't have wanted my high school experience to be anywhere else. The people that go there are unique and amazing. I love how diverse the school is, because I learned about so many different cultures just be going there."

"I attended Rio Lindo Adventist Academy for two years, and I would do it all over again if permitted. I loved the place, loved my time there, but Rio has its pros and cons. Pros: - Great faculty: Very knowledgeable in their subjects, very friendly, and are willing to provide help if asked. - Beautiful campus: The views are amazing, especially when the sun sets and rises. Very peaceful, and the campus is expansive. - Religion classes: Encourages debate and discussion. Much better than other classes that teach you what to believe and then test out of it. Religion classes here allow you to come to your own conclusions instead of believing what you're taught. - Music department: Four music groups, including a choir, a select, traveling choir (Lindaires), a 13-person handbell choir (Sonare), and an orchestra. Instructor did an excellent job teaching, and students are engaged in lessons and are a lot of fun in general. - Shop and Home Ec.: Schools are cutting down on life skills classes. Rio still has them. - Potential great friends: All up to who you choose to hang out with, but there are some pretty amazing people. - Accommodation for disabled: Both with physical, mental, and learning disability. Very accommodating and are willing to facilitate. Students in general do not make fun of disabled students and accept them into the fold as one of their own. Cons: - Lackluster education: Faculty may be well-versed in their field, but some don't really convey their knowledge successfully. However, there is an improvement program set in place. - Possible drama: Depending on who you are friends with, there may be some drama. However, some cliques don't really care for it and just don't have much, if any at all. - Stealing in the dorms: This happened quite frequently in past years, but security cameras are now put up. If there is any stealing, report to the dean IMMEDIATELY. - Extremely strict dress code: On the women's side. Not an inch off or you'll be sent back."

"My overall experience at Rio Lindo Academy exceeded my expectations. Going to this school turned my life around. After 8 years of home school, I was pretty shy. Not only did I overcome my fear of talking with people, I began to also make friends, which was hard for me before. The academics at Rio were challenging, which taught me how to overcome my obstacles. They provided extracurricular activities as well as honors classes, which made any student able to advance in areas that they wanted to. My spiritual life began to get better because of the activities that they planned for us. Overall, it made me want to be closer with God. I began to not only see myself changing, but others around me changing and growing in areas that they had a very hard time with. Rio Lindo Academy's faculty not only teach the students, but care about their lives. They have home groups every Wednesday, which helped for getting to know them better. This school is unique in the sense that there is diversity. People from different countries pay to come to this school, and after they finish their years there, they have a new sense of learning English, as well as making new friend's from the opposite side of the world. The dorm allows students to connect in a whole new way. Because everyone lives together, students experience living with different types of people. There are so many more realms of Rio Lindo Academy that I could add, but I will say this. Coming to this school caused me to realize that there is more to life than sticking within our comfort zone. Ultimately, this was the greatest growing experience that I have ever had."
