"As a previous student of this school, I loved my time there. My guidance councelor was great and attentive, the school nurse knew me and understood what to do when I was sent there (I have asthma) and my teachers were overall excellent. The music department teachers were all incredible, caring but no-nonsense, so choir was like an actual class, not an 'easy A' as it was in other schools I've attended."

"Potomac High School has made such great strides over the past 10 years that it is unfair to compare it to its past. SOL scores are in the upper 80's to low 90's, the athletic coaches are among the best in Prince William County, teachers are among the most caring I have ever encountered, athletic teams are competitive or dominating in spite of the fact that the school is Division 5 competing with Division 6 schools, and the new administration (principal) has been embraced by the students and faculty. The only thing lacking (as always) is community and parental support. As someone else said, 'This is the best kept secret in Prince William County'. As a former high school administrator and college professor with 37 years of experience in education, I fully endorse Potomac High School in Dumfries, Virginia."

"My son and daughter attend the school and i am pleased with it, it all depends on the student and the parents working with the teachers. My son he is a junior, and my daughter is freshman, they have cambridge program which i tried to let my son particpate, it requires commitment from the student. Overall i say it is a good school"

"I am a current sophmore at potomac and have been attending for 2yrs. Potomac is an okay school, nothing special, and thats the thing...we have a nationally known name for our school [Potomac River etc.] and represent VA as well as the other county schools yet we arent as budgeted as well as the other schools [to me, ie. Freedom or Hylton]. Just the renovation etcetera but I could say that it's improving. Thanks to Mr.Womack and the more 'popular' input to the school spirit. But anyways, our school should be able to budget agendas and such."
