"I'm really happy with this school. The education my children are getting is quality, and they do offer a lot of help when kid's need it. This is so helpful, and really helps the children exceed. Of course the school is not perfect, but all in all everyone involved with the students, including support staff, wants your children to succeed!"

"This school has a wonderful gifted program that is quite challenging. Some teachers are trained and qualified to teach gifted students and the gifted director for the district is exceptional. It is apparent that "gifted" does not mean just learning a higher grade level, but learning in a different way. On a different note, Since this school hosts the ESL students, I wish the school offered foreign language starting in kindergarten."

"My son's 4th grade teacher is fabulous. She continually challenges him. She has a genuine interest in all of the kids and expects the best from them. My son is reading more than ever and really loves math!"

"My daughter has been at the school since it open. I am happy to report that the well rounded education my daughter is receiving has made her enjoy going to school. I love that they still have art, music and PE (all week not just once or twice a week). In addition I appreciate the reading program with reading specialists to help students underperforming. My daughter wishes she didn't get better so she could still be with the specialist. The library program for 3rd-6th grade has helped my daughter branch out on her reading. Overall we have been really happy with the school and think she is being pushed appropriately for her level of learning."

"Bristol Bay Elementary School is an excellent school despite the fact that their test scores tend to be lower than the rest of the district. The teachers are extremely dedicated to the students. They do an awesome job of bringing low achieving students up to where they need to be. They also do everything within their ability to challenge the high students. The reason the high students are not as challlenged as they should be at times is due to the district policies and lack of a strong gifted program. It has nothing to do with the teachers. Also, the lower test scores have NOTHING to do with the teachers and everything to do with the student/parent population. The students that come from a supportive, education rich household do very well on test scores. The principal, while is very welcoming and personable, is not organized and lacks the "go getter" attitude needed for an effective administration. The teachers attend many, many outside of the school day events that they are not required to do. Much more than the teachers at the school where I used to teach! All in all, BBES is a great school!"
