"this is a basic middle school that handles the large number of students well and tends to the lead no child behind theory. However, it does nothing to foster the top 20% of students. there is no foreign language. no summer reading list. it brings up the bottom third of the class but dumbs down its top students."

"Academically superior than other schools in Northeast Ohio! Could use more extras for 5/6 grades. My daughter is type 1 diabetic and the nurse is excellent. Parental involvment is extremely high and also encouraged by school system."

"I have had 2 children attend CVMS during the past 5 years. They had good experiences both academically and athletically. The teachers and coaches were great."

"CVMS is a school bursting with potential; the teachers have positive attitudes and the assistant principal does a great job with her daunting task of helping to prepare pre-teens and teens for life ahead. I don't know much about the principal; he does not seem as involved with the children and parents, but perhaps most of his job is meant to be behind the scenes. The building is older and needs some upgrades. I would love to see more extracurricular activities (the focus seems to be sports). The music dept is above average, but they seem to focus so much on this, and leave other things behind, such as foreign language, which in my mind, is very important for a child to learn before high school. All in all, it's in a 'Norman Rockwell' kind of village that is a safe community, and full of charm."
