MOVING DAY, as well as the days leading up to it, are looming with what seems like a million things that need to be done. But don't forget you're in this together as a family! There are moving activities for children that will make the day easier for everyone. For starters, distribute these kids' job badges. Assigning children specific roles and responsibilities increases their sense of being valued members of the moving team, and enables you to fly through many of the "to do's" on your list. Check out the kids' job descriptions below and print the "official" job badges (or even come up with new ones that may be unique to your family's move!). Once everyone has a designated title (or more than one!), a corresponding job badge to wear and moving activities to do, you just might be surprised at how smooth your move can be.

Chief Label Artist "Labels" all moving boxes with colored pencils, crayons, markers and more. Toy Technician Sorts and packs all of the toys in the house. Stuffing Supply Sergeant Manages the family's supply of newspaper, towels and other packing materials. Cleanup Commissioner Ensures that all unwanted shreds and scraps are out of the way and thrown away. Snack Supplier Keeps everyone's energy level high with healthy treats and plenty of beverages.		Closet & Cabinet Detective Inspects every closet, cabinet, nook and cranny to ensure that nothing is left behind. Goodwill Ambassador Collects items to be donated to charity – toys, clothing and small household items. Pet Project Manager Ensures that pet food, dishes, beds and favorite toys are packed and keeps the furriest member(s) of the family safely entertained. Library Leader Catalogues the family's cherished book and video library, and is careful to pack boxes that won't get too heavy.
