As of the census of 2000, there were 493 people, 180 households, and 160 families residing in the city. The population density was 477.5 people per square mile (184.8/km ). There were 181 housing units at an average density of 175.3 per square mile (67.8/km ). The racial makeup of the city was 98.58% White, 1.01% from other races, and 0.41% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 2.64% of the population.
There were 180 households out of which 28.3% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 81.1% were married couples living together, 5.0% had a female householder with no husband present, and 10.6% were non-families. 8.3% of all households were made up of individuals and 5.0% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.74 and the average family size was 2.89.
