I am a 5 th generation resident of Punta Gorda. I graduated from Dartmouth College with a degree in Asian Studies, specializing in Japanese language and culture, with intensive immersion in Portuguese and special studies in Space-Age technology.
After graduation, I moved to Tokyo to begin my career. I began my career in fashion and real estate development, and later entered into the healthcare and industrial fields. I amassed 20 years international experience as a strategy consultant, researcher, and trainer in the fields of international business development and cross-cultural communications in Asia, Europe, and Africa. I have 10 years' experience in developing sustainable residential and commercial building solutions.
My expertise is in opening new markets for franchises, manufacturers, and distributors. I have facilitated the entire business development process from completing comprehensive market studies to include new country analysis, industry-specific, macro-economic, market-size, market niche, pricing, competition, and strategic partner studies; followed by business infrastructure development, training, regulatory compliance, local partnering, and logistics. I possess Area Market expertise in Asia, Europe, Africa, the Caribbean, and Florida markets.
In 2015, I moved back to Punta Gorda, hoping to contribute these experiences to enhance our local and regional economy. In 2016, I was elected to the Punta Gorda City Council. I am a graduate of Leadership Florida, and have completed every level of the Florida League of Cities University's Institute of Elected Municipal Officials. I am member of the Charlotte County Tourism Development Council, Vice-President of the Punta Gorda Historical Society, Board Member of the Peace River Community Housing Partners, Board Member of Bayfront Hospital Punta Gorda, Vice-Chair of the Freedom & Virtue Institute, and President of the Cultural Heritage Center of SWFL.
I am a Developer-Builder member of the Charlotte-Desoto Building Industry Association, providing sustainable building solutions for commercial and residential construction, and porous pavement solutions for the statewide building industry. I am a Florida licensed Real Estate Professional, focusing on the intersection point between Commercial and Residential Real Estate, the "Missing Middle". I have earned the Seniors Real Estate Specialist (SRES) designation from the National Association of Realtors.
In addition to the general practice of Commercial Real Estate, there are four areas that I am able to facilitate for buyer, seller, and investor clients:
1. Meeting the demand for small commercial, mixed-use, workforce and intergenerational housing through sustainable building technologies. There is tremendous opportunity for investors to meet the demand for intergenerational housing and commercial space through facilitating the construction of the "Missing Middle".
Creating projects with highest level of marketability. In the coming decade, Florida will have more retirees and young families that it has ever had before. We will need to develop in a sustainable manner. Incorporating concepts such Universal Design into building design will maximize the marketability of properties because they will appeal to both matures and young families. Additionally, sustainable site designs such as using porous pavement, can both mitigate against drainage issues, and reduce the pervious to impervious ratio of surfaces increasing the amount of buildable area for a project. Creating Optimal Investment Opportunities for clients, such as facilitating 1031 Exchanges, and investment in Opportunity Zones and EB5s. Assisting International Clients in Commercial and Residential Investment in SWFL. I have experience in many international markets. I have particular expertise in working European and Asian clients.
