Then, it fell out of favor with homeowners as granite soared in\npopularity. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But as with many previous trends, Formica is back. In fact, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.architecturaldigest.com\/story\/most-popular-countertops-2017-formica\">Architectural Digest<\/a> even ran a story on its re-emergence. So,\nFormica is actually cool again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But today\u2019s Formica isn\u2019t that shiny mid-century design you may remember.\nNow, Formica countertops come in patterns and edge options that make them\nnearly indistinguishable from real granite or marble &#8212; until you touch it. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In recognition of the new interest in laminates, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.formica.com\/en-us\/\">Formica\nCorporation<\/a> recently teamed up\nwith <a href=\"https:\/\/leanneford.com\/\">Leanne Ford<\/a>, an\ninterior designer and star of HGTV\u2019s \u201cRestored by the Fords,\u201d to launch the <a href=\"https:\/\/c212.net\/c\/link\/?t=0&amp;l=en&amp;o=2352697-1&amp;h=862215514&amp;u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.formica.com%2FCapsule&amp;a=Formica.com%2FCapsule\">Formica Brand Capsule Collection<\/a>, a curated set of Formica surfacing products\nperfect for the luxury home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe Formica Brand Capsule Collection features surfaces that are inspired\nby natural elements and neutral colors and can be used to create a timeless\nspace,\u201d said Ford. \u201cI love the aesthetics and functionality of these surfaces.\nThere is something for everyone.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The collection includes four new Formica laminate designs: Nero Marquina\n(a black design based on marble from the region of Markina in the north of\nSpain); White Knotty Maple (a raw and rustic natural woodgrain); Pietra Grafite\n(a classic gray stone with white veining); and Planked Raw Oak (a light\nScandinavian-style woodgrain). There are also metallics and designs with recycled\nleather veneers. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI like to mix materials in my designs and try new things in unexpected\nways,\u201d said Ford.
