"Hampden Charter school of Science is a great school. If your looking for child to attend a college preparatory school with it foundations built upon both math and science well this would be the ideal school. This school networks with many near by colleges and does many annaul events giving there students recognition such as the science fair. This school has a great educational program and improving sports program"

"I liked how almost every student was treated fairly. They try very hard to prep all students for college. There are multiple opportunities for all of the students to be involved in the school."

"I was enrolled in this school on it second year running . The school is very small although it was expanding when I graduated. The size was great because it gave all whole school a sense of community . I knew everybody In my year by first name and what class they were in because of this we became a big family. Although we often complained deep down we lived it we were always taught material from a year ahead and if we need help we got it immediately. The school is very cultural there are teacher and students from so many different backgrounds (i.e. Turkish, Indian , Chinese etc). It gave a great sense of world view for me . I highly recommend this school they're are very strict they take no excuses that aren't valid and make you take responsibility for your actions."

"This school pushes ethical boundaries pretty much daily. Even if the temperature is barely in the single digits or just reaching the double digits, there is still school. Adding to this, over 200 kids have to go outside to reach some of their classes. Non-school brand sweatshirt aren't allowed even in these conditions, though they're literally just a stitched on logo and sold for twice as much. Whilst the students freeze to death for the time they go to the other building, staff can freely wear their winter jackets while "escorting" students from one building to the other. Facilities are often not cleaned or smell nasty. If this isn't marketed as a public school, then why do the bathrooms smell just as bad or worse compared to public Wal-Mart bathrooms? School food is often compared to prison food, while classifying prison food as a delicacy in comparison."

"The school was a fairly good high school, I started out there since 2009 and it felt like I was somewhat of a guinea pig to them as my class was put through some stuff that hindered are education for instance not having an official science teacher for a few months in one of my middle school grades it was still a great school though. The teachers are usually nice, but the workload is usually extremely heavy, mostly the homework. Students are assigned tedious amounts of work from multiple classes on any random day. The bus ride for me was roughly an hour and 30 minutes so I would end up getting home at 5:30 and If I attended any sports I would get home around 7:30 - 8:00. When you have to stack homework on top of that its a bit stressful and overwhelming. The staff didnt care about how late you stayed up doing the work and however many hours of sleep you got. I would mostly get 5 - 6 hours on an average night getting up early to catch the bus the next morning. Overall its a good school with a strenuous education plan who's disciplinary system makes no sense is flawed in many aspects, and is to strict."
