"Attending this school was one of the best decisions my family & I made. I was so surprised to see some of the reviews here & wanted to share my recent experience. The school is not part of the archdiocese, but it does teach Catholic theology in its religion classes. It is not "run by Opus Dei." The families & faculty who are Opus Dei are in the minority. I am not an active Catholic, but I always felt comfortable asking questions or offering a different opinion in class. Montrose was about strong academics, building leadership skills, & developing great friendships. Faith was important but not the center of the experience. This school has 11 AP courses (and you work hard in every class regardless of level), excellent & passionate teachers, individual advising, & a genuine warmth. My teachers knew me & I knew them: I could go to them for help & they truly cared about my success. No school is perfect, but this place really is a hidden gem. Go visit & see Montrose for yourself!"

"I love this school. I have been here since 8th grade and it is the first place that allowed and encouraged me to be myself. The people here are the nicest you will find anywhere. The teachers want you to do well and are simply superb! There are a surprising amount of clubs and activities available for such a small school. I have been encouraged to be more confident and participate in class. I feel supported by my peers and teachers in all my endeavors and will be sad to leave this place when I graduate!"

"I transferred to this school after being in a public school. I honestly could not express how much I love this school. The teachers are so supportive and truly care about you and your success. The girls who go here are the most accepting and kind girls you will ever meet. I will be graduating this year and I am so sad to be leaving behind all the administration. The friends I have made here and friends I will truly treasure my entire life. The school has such a welcoming and happy environment that inspires learning. Aside from the outstanding academics I have learned here I have also learned great characteristics. They instill the greatness in each of their students to strive to be their best. They encourage us to take risks and to always support others around us. They teach us how to be professional young women in todays world. I am truly blessed to have gone to this school and if you have the opportunity to come here I strongly encourage you to do so."

"In our family's experience, Montrose was not transparent enough during the admissions process about what Opus Dei is and how much Opus Dei influences the school's culture. The school was founded, and is run by, members of Opus Dei. Opus Dei is a very small group within the Catholic Church and has been the subject of much controversy. There are Opus Dei numeraries and supernumeraries on Montrose's Board of Trustees and faculty, and there are many Opus Dei families at Montrose. The school seems like a great fit for the Opus families, but Opus Dei is not for everyone, and I think the school should have been more clear about it. Our Catholic family was not comfortable there, and we are active in our parish and have attended Catholic schools through college."

"I had the fortune of attending Montrose from 6th to 12th grade. Years later, the value of this education has proven its tenfold. I was recruited by a competitive college to play lacrosse and have gone on to start my own business. I felt empowered as a young woman graduating from Montrose. I was initially struck by how prepared I was when I attended my first college lectures- and not just academically! Rarely did other female students have the confidence to participate in class discussion. I owe this difference to Montrose. The teachers at Montrose valued my input, supported me, and challenged me. I was taught to think critically, argue reasonably, and to speak confidently. Montrose is more than just an educational institution. It is a place for your daughters to grow- to become stronger, more confident, and kinder. Upon graduation, they will be ready for the world- armed with sturdy values and a strong sense of self to guide them. I continue to lend my support to Montrose."
