"MV has great academics but the administration is very overreaching, and some rules are too harsh/biased. Coservative atmosphere"

"There is no diversity in Teacher, Can't have your own natural roots coming out of your hair, it has to be chemical or straighten can't have no braids and this very true look at their policy. Made in 1998 but when you walk in it feels like you're in the 1950's basically segregation JIM CROW LAW Environment, there a lot of discrimination and you can't be yourself because of your natural hair and staff member can't be darker"

"This school has racially discriminated two young black girls for wearing individual braids in their hair. This school is trash."

"In my time at Mystic Valley, I have had mixed results. The building is not very sanitary, including the bathrooms having no stalls and the toilets being clogged for days at a time, and in class a dead rat was in room M301 and had to be gotten rid of the next day. As students and teachers, we are not valued. Students cannot express themselves and any speech against the school is prohibited. The school does not treat us like people, but just a score that gets our ratings up. Bullying is at a minimum, but the school pushes it under a rug, just like our values. The students are miserable and tired 24/7, due to being over worked with hours of studying and homework, leaving no free time. The education is amazing and rigorous, however, the administration needs to get their priorities straight, less worrying about peoples hair lengths and more about things that will actually benefit the school."

"There is no diversity in the staff members and some of the school rules are racist like not being able to have hair that is 2 inches above your head. Some teachers abuse their power and make students feel worse on purpose when they are already distressed. Overall the academics are good, but the only students that are appreciated are the IB Diploma students. It feels as though if you take honors or college prep classes, you looked at like a lesser by the administration who only seems to ever reward students that "push themselves more than others" aka are in higher level classes."
