"I had an amazing experience at Pembroke High School. As a board member of Student Council, National Honors Society, and Key club I was able to grow as a leader and form connections with not only other peers but teachers as well. I was also able to excel athletically as a lacrosse captain. I was able to take courses that challenged me academically but also allowed me room to grow as a student and become well-rounded. I truly grew as an individual while at Pembroke High School and was able to become the person I am today. Pembroke High School put me on the path to where I am now and I could not be happier. Teachers truly cared about their students and wanted to see them succeed on all fronts. I was constantly shown support in and out of the classroom by my teachers and peers."

"Pembroke High School is a small high school with about 1200 students. Pembroke was part of a regional school district and withdrew about 11 years ago to become their own high school. My favorite thing about the school was my guidance counselor. She was there every step of the way guiding me towards my future goals. I would like to see the favoritism changed. Time and time again the same people are winning the scholarships, being captains of the sports team being picked for varsity sports because of their name instead of their ability. It happens year after year and it doesn't prepare us for the real world when things are handed to us."

"At Pembroke High School, I like the vast amount of Advanced Placement classes that are made available to the students. Moreover, I like how available the teachers are after school and how willing they are to help students. However, the requirements to enter an Advanced Placement class are very loose, and guidance allows mediocre students to enter these advanced classes. This brings the overall effectiveness of the class down significantly, and it limits the potential of students who excel in the Advanced Placement classes."

"I would like to see PHS give greater focus to the highest performing students by helping students plan their 4-year class schedule to accommodate as many advanced and AP courses as possible. I would also like for the focus of the athletic programs to be to produce high performing varsity teams with the best coaches available , instead of allowing everyone who tries out to make the team."
