"I am a proud alumna of Mount Alvernia High School. I am positive the successes over the last 15 years, in college, in my professional and personal lives, are due to the foundation I was given at MAHS. I have spent a majority of my career working in government. My elementary school taught me the basics of government, but Mount Alvernia High School showed me that the values of the school s motto, Pax et Bonum - peace and goodness - are important in public service. It was at 790 Centre Street in Newton where I was further encouraged to become the person I was created to be. The small school setting enabled me to thrive - participation in Student Council allowed me to serve my MAHS community. Writing for the school newspaper taught me how to tell a story. And community service gave me a taste for helping others. I carry those values instilled in me and have relied on them every step of my journey."

"I have now been graduated from Mount Alvernia for 2 years and looking back, I wouldn't have changed a thing. People often scold all-girl Catholic schools and wonder why anyone would want to go to one. However, I would encourage any girl to take on this experience. I met friends that will last a life time, teachers that were willing to do anything to help you understand the material, and an overall experience that I would not have gotten anywhere else. I remember rushing through high school and just wanting to get to college where all the "big things" happen. I wish I could have told my young self to just slow down and stop rushing the days down. Mount Alvernia gave me so much more than just an education, but molded me into the person that I am today. This community made me a better person and made me realize that I can accomplish anything if I work hard enough."

"This school is great. Since it is small, it is easier to get more one-on-one attention from the teachers and they prepare the students very well for college."

"The teachers always go above and beyond to help the students, never had a problem with any of the teachers."

"When coming to college I was not used to such a big school and coed, when I first got to classes instead of being confident in my answers and willing to talk in class I was more timid"
