"North Kingstown Senior High School has a great variety of courses (all levels), clubs, and sports. If I were to change one thing, it would be to start class times later. A 7:15 start is too early for teenagers."

"Safe, sound education and good parent involvement. The teachers I've come across are engaged in their jobs and the education of their students. Like all schools and like everything in life - the school, the teachers... it will only get you so far. It is the responsibly of the student - who is not a child, to go that extra mile. I felt compelled to write this review after reading comments from students saying, "good school but they didn't prepare me for xyz". I teach my own children that they also have a role in their education. If they feel unprepared or a gap in a certain area - it is their responsibility to be their own advocate to help close that gap. From a parent's point of view - I moved to the district for this school and I'm glad I did. I truly feel it gave my kids a great education with scale - unlike some of the smaller neighboring town school."

"Even though I had a high GPA and passed all of my classes, I don't feel as though I was properly prepared for college. The teachers were knowledgeable and I learned a lot through their required curriculum, but unfortunately, I feel as though there are important skills that should be taught in high school that I did not learn about. There are many basic life skills that should be required that are not taught here. We are taught algebra, geometry, and calculus, but are not taught how to balance a checkbook. We are taught not to bully, but when children are in trouble no one is around to stop it. We are required to take physical education classes to test our endurance, but aren't taught how to defend ourselves. We are told to study but not taught proper study techniques. I believe that while I am in school for six and a half hours a day for four years, I should be taught life skills that are helpful for when I graduate from said school, and help me in the read world when I am on my own."

"I enjoyed my learning experience at this school. Most of the teachers were good at what they taught, but I could tell that every single one of them truly loved being there and teaching. The one thing I would like to see change in was class rank. There is such a difference between each class in terms of competitive spirit that it was unfair to be in a certain class just because of the year you were born. The change between the class of 2017 and the class of 2018 is so drastic. 2017's graduating class is insanely competitive, someone who is 60th in the class could easily be in the top 20 in the class of 2018. It has begun to take a toll on the students who would do anything possible to just bump up one or two more places."

"Throughout my three and a half years at North Kingstown High School, I am fortunate enough to have developed both intellectually and as a person. This school provided me with a safe and clean environment to expand my knowledge, organization, and communication skills to prepare me for a higher education. This school gave all students technology and care that many other schools in other districts do not and cannot provide. The only change I would suggest for North Kingstown High School is to try to get students more involved with decision making. I think the school would benefit if students were reached out to more in regards to matters such as school start times, detention policies, absences and tardy rules, and school activities such as fundraisers. However, my overall experience at this high school is pleasant and I am grateful for the academic and after school opportunities it has given me."
