"I would like the music program to go farther with jazz. The music program does not have enough support from parents and neither does the music boosters. The principal is very supportive with music and the arts, as well as sports."

"The one thing that I really like about SAHS is that all students support one another on athletic teams. For example football always comes to watch the field hockey team during their big games. People are nice to one another and help each other. Some things that I would like to see change our food and lunch options not just the same old same old. Also cleanliness is a big problem at the school. Its not every day that classrooms get cleaned or bathrooms, that should be happening and its not."

"I graduated from Skowhegan Area High School in June of 2016. Even in my senior year, there were new changes being brought about. There were meetings with students from each grade, the principle and another teacher to talk about what we would like to see happen with the school. The school was moving toward proficiency based education like many other schools in the district. However, I was lucky enough to graduate before that. My high school principle Ms. Poulin was very involved with the students and knew the majority of them by name. I was never a trouble student or someone that was in the office very often so it meant a lot that she took the time to learn my name. I took advanced placement and honors classes all four years, with the occasional regular college level class that my peers were taking. Therefore, I had a different learning experience than they did. I'm very thankful for that."

"Most of the teachers get to know you to make sure you're comfortable talking about hard times outside of school as well as in school problems."
