"CVU provided an awesome high school experience. Everyone really cares about the students and the learning that happens there. The school has great facilities from an amazing theatre, to a shop, and everywhere is clean and well taken care of. The food from the cafeteria is very good, especially compared to other school food. Most of the student body participates in sports, many for two or even three seasons. There is also a range of well-organized clubs for students to join. Unfortunately there are a lot of politics which leads to certain clubs being well funded and others being shorted. The academics at CVU are ok. Teachers know what they teach but there is no tracking, so many classes lack rigor. The administration is incredibly progressive, pushing for standards based learning and ways to count internships for credit. Many of these changes are being done without full justification. I worry that this will jeopardize college acceptance and the value of a CVU education in the future."

"CVU is really great at offering niches for every student and presenting them with as many options as possibly so everyone finds something they love. I was really appreciative of how passionate my teachers were, but I'd like to see their college advising change. When I went to college I felt that I had no idea how to handle scheduling and I wished I had taken some different AP's in high school, like AP English. I think that students who know what they will study in college should be advised on AP's that will help them in their major (such as for engineers and other STEM majors, I suggest taking AP Calc, Chem, English and/or Physics so as to start ahead by not taking the basics during freshman year). Otherwise, academic advising in CVU is very helpful and informative!"

"This school puts such a huge emphasis on creating a safe and caring community where faculty, staff and students can all feel comfortable and learn from one another. The faculty and staff are incredibly dedicated to their students and the school is constantly trying to give the students a voice and to let them thrive."

"My experience in Champlain Valley Union High School was Okay. The teachers were very good and I could talk to them after class when I was struggling on understanding some of the things that were being taught in class. The classroom sizes, that I had was between 15 to 40 students usually with large number of students there were two teachers. One thing that I didn't like about the school was its lack of diversity. If you were a minority you stood out from the rest and you were treat different. It could get lonely and very stressful very quickly as a minority."

"Overall quality of the actual facilities and building is very nice compared to other schools. It is very clean and the food is nice as well. Atmosphere is alright, yet some of the teaching is a little suspect."
