"To really be prepared for College you must take full advantage of the programs affiliated with the school. If you trust the school to do it for you alone you may do well in the school it but you are not setting yourself for outside success."

"I feel safe at Vanguard High School. The prior high school I went to I was bullied and hated being there. I have made friends here at Vanguard and I like most of my teachers. They are very helpful. For instance, my AP Physics teacher helps me with AP Calculus exams. If it wasn't for my Physics teacher I would not be doing as well as I am. I thank him for that. Vanguard is a great school."

"Underfunded school. Not really "diverse" if 60% of students are Latinx- theres not a lot of white, black, or asian students. O: education, cares more about teaching you how to be politically correct than teaching you geography, US history. No AP classes. Grading is too harsh with a heavy workload, little to no extra- curricular activities."

"Vanguard is a pretty safe school with lots of diversity to offer. You will see Black, Latino, Hispanic, Muslims, Asians, and other races or backgrounds. A lot of resources in terms of extra-curricular are provided. For example, College Now at John Jay College is provided for students who get a 75 or above on their English regents. Also, SEO Scholars is provided if students want to apply. SEO is a 8 year academic program that prepares students for the Sat more thoroughly than their school would and provides college application support. However, at the same time Vanguard could improve in their academics because students are let off really easy with little homework. We need more rigorous classes that actually provide good material and has appropriate homework."

"I am really in love with my school. From the minute I walked in on orientation day, I just knew. The teachers and students are so supportive. Vanguard High School is built on respect and supporting their fellow classmates. Of course like regular high schools there are some students that don't follow through. But the staff is really strict on no bullying or fighting and will do talking or counseling if needed on both ends. Overall, it's the best school I've ever been too and I'm proud to say I go to school here."
