"City Honors School has a curriculum that is challenging for the active mind. IB and AP courses provide above and beyond opportunities to stand out for college. Teachers are friendly and willing to aid students. On the flipside, there is a lack of creative opportunity due to a lack of electives. Many students are impatient and confrontational with administration, which leads to many pointless "protests"."

"City Honors is very intense academically, good for students looking for a one-up in college. If you're not ready to deal with hours of homework nightly or don't want to be pressured into taking the hardest courses, try somewhere less rigorous. There are many great teachers and some not-so-good ones. The great ones make your life easier when you have an exam and three papers due next week. They care about you as a person and want to see you succeed. Hope that you get them. Student body could use more diversity, but we've been improving on that in the last few years. Not really any bullying I can speak of most people are very supportive and open-minded. The administration? They're okay. Could be more transparent with students and parents. There isn't much communication between what students need and what the administration actually does. A bit of enlightenment and inspiration would do them good. I ve been a proud Centaur for eight years, but like all communities, CHS has its flaws"

"City Honors is an excellent college prep school, but as you move up in grade level your restrictions and filters on freedoms are increased. Administration has no consideration for its students, and only cares about the schools reputation. Events that happen at the school that could negatively affect the school are immediately swept under the carpet. It has turned more into a jail rather than a school. The academics only prepare you for your prerequisite courses in college, and class selection is dismal. Specialized classes are not given and real world skills are never taught. I expected more coming into this school as a 5th grader, and it has only gone downhill. Very disappointing."

"City Honor's students are very uniformed. They support each other and help each other with everything from tough homework problems to personal problems. The academics are extremely rigorous and certainly challenging. If one thing could be better, however, it would be the electives. In an environment filled with talented and gifted children, advanced electives in things like music, creative writing, and psychology could go a long way."

"I like that City Honors offers AP and IB courses, and some teachers are well-qualified to teach those subjects. However, the facilities could be cleaner and there could be better communication between administration and the students."
