"My parents are involved and most of my friends parents are as well; however, there are some of my classmates who could definitely use some more support."

"There are many amazing teachers at NHS - most are engaging and helpful...some it seems are repeating the same material and give the same tests over from year to year and some students take advantage of this - from former students materials. It seems many teachers have a lot to do and little prep time so it's understandable, but discouraging to know that some kids get good grades because they have access to tests while others do not. I wish the teachers were more cognizant of this - some are, but others don't seem to be. That being said, the teachers themselves are approachable and friendly - which is a great."

"Again, the teachers are primary community members and care about their students...however, the responsibilities are great and sometimes teachers get bogged down with just trying to keep up...this causes some settling with the material instead of creativity with some teachers but not all...there are some who are forced to teach courses with little or no experience and they try their best."

"For a small rural school, the teachers, administrators, and community rally around the youth, support each other and participate in day to day efforts for improvement. Teachers are often overloaded and need to reuse materials from year to year. Unfortunately, this may cause a disadvantage for students who are new to the material as some students rely on work from former students and often times tests are verbatim from year to year, causing quite a discrepancy in grades for students who are seeing the tests and materials the first time. The best solution to this would be if teachers would keep tests after students review their grades so they are not available or simply vary the test materials so students really truly study and don't rely on former tests to get good grades. It's very disappointing especially as this does not put students on an even playing field nor does it accurately reflect the teachers ability to convey learning."
