"My experience at Garnet Valley High School has been one heck of a ride. In my opinion the students there are not the greatest and there are too many of them. Within the school district we have had multiple scares which did not make me want to go back to school. The food is extremely unhealthy and the bathrooms are not the cleanest. They put all their money towards things the school does not need, for example they completely redid the library and cafeteria. I am highly supportive of the music program which is failing in my school as well as many others. If anything my school could've at least put some money into getting new instruments, for marching band the front ensemble's instruments literally break while moving on and off the field and sometimes will collapse in class. Our band has shrunk by at least 35% since 2011. On the other hand my teachers have been excellent, they teach to the best of their ability and I have enjoyed almost every class I have had. Wish I can say more."

"The academics are very nice. I feel extremely prepared for college with all of the AP courses. However, none of the male bathrooms have toilet paper (this is not the school's fault as there are kids that waste it all), and the cafeteria food always looks unhealthy and doesn't always taste the best."

"The students here are really nice. Most of the teachers are also really good, but some don't try as hard as others and you can tell on the first day. I realized that the harder the class, the better the teacher. Some teachers do come off as rude and strict, but if you talk to them in your free time, they are really nice. There are security guards that roam around the school, but the ones I've met are kind of rude. I recommend bringing in lunch, and if it's nice outside you can go out and eat, rather than sit in the cafeteria."

"Good for a public school. I think it's currently in a slight slump because the school is getting too big for its current buildings. They're expanding the local highway which signals to me a growth in the population of the district. The school was comfortably packed when I went there but it has not grown since. The quality of the classes has decreased based on staffing; I feel authorized to say this because I am helping my little brother with his classes and feel that the instruction he is receiving is of lesser quality than when I attended the school. When I went I felt that it had prepared me well for the content of college level courses, but not for the pacing. But I don't think anything besides boarding school could really emulate the pacing and atmosphere of college. I will say diversity was poor when I attended, I was one of maybe 15 nonwhites out of a class of 375."

"I like the students and the positive environment through the school. I do believe that Garnet Valley does a great job keeping kids in line and most of the students do not have problems while they are attneding school. There are some things I believe that should change though. I beleive that the grading scale is too harsh and that it should be on a 10 point system. I also beelvie that many of th eteachers are not very great and this forces kids to work harder than they should have to for grades."
