"Students at this school are making more academic progress given where they were last year, compared to similar students in the state. Strong student progress also known as student growth means different things. that students are starting at a low point but the school is doing a better job at supporting their academic growth than most other schools. It also depends on the school's test scores and educations ."

"I love all the opportunities McKinley produces for their students. However the school spirit can be better. Other than that the academics, opportunities and staff are great."

"High school is a place where young teens learn to become mature and responsible. It is a place where students get trained to take on bigger challenges in life. Obstacles such as college. From my own personal experiences, high school didn't seem that way. Students were more concerned about getting a passing grade then about what they were taught. They would even cheat their way out of high school. This would prepare them for college. My freshman year of high school, I was in a totally different place and it seemed quite interesting and fascinating at first. As the year passed by, I started to notice the techniques students were using to pass classes. It was something I didn't see while I was in junior high school. Students were cheating on almost all the tests. They would bring little print-out cheat sheets to class to use on the tests. Hardly anyone got caught by the teacher. When students did get caught, all they would do is deny and usually the teacher"

"McKinley really prepares you for college and the intensity of its work. I love the idea of the five maths and two Ap courses being a requirement in order to graduate because it puts you in a determined and more focused mindset. What i would like to see change about the school would have to be the principals student interact and more school pride."
