"What is great about SWW, is the student community. Only top students are selected every year. The teachers are good but not better than in any other public or private school in the district. Some are not great but keep their positions because the administration does nothing about it despite student and parent complaints. In other schools they would have been long gone. The administration is hopeless and dealing with them is pretty frustrating to both teachers and parents. The school offers limited choices in terms of courses and electives so that can be a drawback for many. The arts program for instance is pretty average. The class sizes are also large, with some classes with over 26+ students. The teacher to student ratio indicated in this report is not accurate. Lately, the school is over enrolling so there is a problem with classroom space. For instance some classes are being conducted in the cafeteria or even outside of the building."

"This school would certainly prepare you for college. It is a lot of hard work so I don't recommend to people who just want an easy diploma."

"When I first arrived at The School Without Walls fall of 2010 I was greeted with open arms and warm faces. The Summer Bridge program was a great was of integrating the incoming students of all years. I made friends before even officially arriving and many more within the first few years. But the diversity decreased within the next two years after classes of 11 and 12 graduated. The incoming students were more obnoxious and I feel like the classes after 14 were admitted on a more lenient set of criteria. That s the main thing that could have been fixed."

"I love the college readiness atmoshphere it creates for its students. Walls presents its students with a plethora of opportunities for them to participate in inlcuding a highly prestigious program that allows kids to take classes at the George Washington University for college credit. On top of that the teachers go beyond what is expected of them and participate in facilitating extra curriculars. Walls emphasizes learning without limits and utilizes their location into their curriculum. The city of Washington is used as one giant classroom and teachers will incorporate field trips into their lesson plans frequently which makes learning fun."

"The academics at School Without Walls are very rigorous, and does an amazing job at preparing students for college. Extracurriculars at the school are slightly lacking, simply due to the lack of resources and a smaller population of students. Most of the teachers do a good job of helping their students succeed."
