"I attended Douglass my sophomore year and I loved it. It was a big school for me because I was coming from Banneker in D.C.. The teachers really try to work with the students and love what they do. The principal is not the typical principal that sits in the office, he goes around talking to the student and gets involved in the classroom. Also, you feel a sense of safety because you can connect with the security guards and you feel like family. The only reason I'm not giving Douglass a 5 is because the students can be a little hectic sometimes but what school doesn't have that. I graduated this year and would recommend anyone to attend."

"Although I am glad to have had the opportunity to be able to finish all 4 years of school and earn my diploma, my school was not the best school. Overall, I never really learned much in school. It was mostly bookwork to keep us busy. The only classes that helped prepare me for college were the few AP classes I took and that was only because they were college classes. Few teachers care about your education and majority of the students care as well. The school is very old and needs some renovations along with new textbooks, computers and other equipment. I hope my review does not scare you into not attending. This school could be better, it just needs a little love."

"Overall the school was fine educationally. But I didn't like the favoritism shown towards IB students in comparison to all of the other students. The fights were out of control but the principal Mr. Scott managed to handle breaking up every fight. Some of the staff were lousy in how they disaplined students."

"I was fortunate to have several teachers that have greatly benefited my college preparation. The food is okay."

"I like that the school is a safe place to be in. They focus on order and making sure that we are following the uniform policy. Majority of the teachers make sure you understand what yo are learning. I think that the lunches should be more filling."
