"My daughter goes here, after their first year (which was horrible) I had hope that this could be a place to get a decent education. But I was utterly and completely wrong. The teachers provide no help for any students, they are almost absent during the classes. In addition to that, the girls are the rudest, careless, bratty, and irresponsible students I have ever seen in my entire life. 2 of the girls in my daughters class showed up 30 min late to class every day and did not do the homework, and the teachers did not question them. Unbelievable! The only reason I gave them a high ranking in diversity is that they attract wealthy families from across the globe ready to send their daughters away. I wish I had chosen a different school, do not send your children here waste of 44,000 dollars."

"Loved b4 mod sched-made hard to coordinate classes: fewer sections, disjointed: math, language, history. Boarding: valuable challenge. Opp's handed via cocurric. great but can lead to complacency/unrealistic expectations in real world. College counselors great. Student body "diverse" but self-seg.. among international Asian students and African-Americans. School excess. polit. correct - "welcomed diversity" but forbade Christmas decs on students' doors BC "oppressive/offensive". push to change signs on female bathrooms ("all girls school") BC "offensive" to transgender students. Overall, most teachers solid, some great, a few HORRIBLE. Daughter erased neg's from memory & retains strong loyalty. Hope school returns to sem/trim. Admin claims mod sched success/popular, but sprung w/out input: slew of fams/faculty departed. Beautiful/insulated campus. Limited languages offered -Mandarin cut-most int.nat'l students from China: untapped resource interacting w/native speakers."

"This is school with a beautiful campus great teachers but mediocre academics/ The schedule makes it hard for the kids to cover enough content or retain any information in a year."

"Our daughter had a tremendous experience at Madeira. The community is incredibly welcoming, and the girls are very down-to-earth. The academics and co-curriculum program have set her up for success in college and beyond. The campus is stunning, with views of the Potomac river. We couldn't be happier that she was able to spend her high school years at Madeira."

"Overall, I really enjoyed my experience at Madeira. I am proud to say that I was a Madeira girl and would likely go back if I were making the decision again because I made great friendships and benefitted from teachers who cared about their field and their students. Madeira opened my eyes to the world around me and instilled a desire to be a leader. There always seemed to be a sense of unhappiness and ungratefulness within the student body for one reason or another (food, administration, etc.), which tended to dampen my outlook on a Madeira education. Besides this, the school has made strides to better its athletics program and be more competitive with other well-known private schools around the country."
