"We believe Sun Valley is a wonderful school. The bond passing will help with any issues the school may have."

"At Sun Valley High School you will pass every class you take unless you don't come to class or choose not to do the work. In other words it is super easy, but you do learn somethings going through this school. Also Sun Valley is very diverse so you will meet a lot of people from different places, at Sun Valley you have the opportunity to take classes from a wide variety choice. The teachers at Sun Valley also are a big part of the school, most of them are very friendly and just want to be your friend and help you out through your time with them. Then on the other hand there's teachers who just want to bring you down and don't want to see you do good in life, but like I said you shouldn't fail any classes unless you try to. In conclusion Sun Valley isn't a bad school but it also isn't the best school but no matter where you go there's going to be some type of problem."

"I just recently moved to North Carolina on my senior year and being at Sun valley didn't make it so much fun. I like the ROTC program and the teachers are very nice. But thats about it. The school rules don't make sense. For example, the school sells diet soda in the cafeteria, but when my mom brings me McDonald's for lunch the office had me sit in the back by myself to eat the food because it wasn't part of their nutrition requirements or whatever. I came from a school with a taco stand and a sandwich stand. baked goods made fresh everyday. but at Sun Valley my friend bought a bag of Doritos and it expired 2014. My old high school in New Jersey had free wifi. But not Sun Valley which was built 1961, my old high school was built 1960 and looks brand new. Sun Valley thinks that a random coat of paint here and there will fix the building but it's like a big question mark in my head."

"Sun Valley overall is a good school there are just radicals in different areas that aren't up to par. There's not a lot of fights but still a decent amount, and there are a couple teachers that in my opinion do not care at all about the students education and they should not be teaching because it's like they barely understand the material themselves or they don't know how to teach it to the students. There is a lot of diversity at SVHS but I think in some ways it tends to be very divided socially and with people's beliefs and all that; people are either very accepting or extremely against anyone who disagrees with their ideas or if they just don't like how someone is. But I guess that's just high school for ya."

"The best thing about Sun Valley High School is the principal, Dr. Shaun Poole. He cares so much for the students & parents and is always quick to respond to any concerns. Both of our children have attended SVHS during Dr. Poole's tenure and they both have had concerns about a few different things and Dr. Poole addressed the situations immediately and kept my husband and I involved during the process. Some things I would like to see improve about the school are: fixing broken doors on bathroom stalls in at least one of the girl's bathrooms. Also, I have seen a bit of improvement this year (my younger daughter's senior year) in the help she has received from the guidance counselor regarding college planning, but the counseling department needs to improve overall in helping juniors and seniors plan for college and narrow down scholarship choices from among the millions out there."
