"Prior to Woodlawn, our children attended academic prep schools that we thought were top notch. Coming to Woodlawn, however, we have realized that this school is far and away the best choice we could have made. The faculty is completely invested in the academic, personal and emotional success of the students. The curriculum is first class and teaches both the depth and breadth of material that other schools cannot come close to achieving. The atmosphere is nurturing and welcoming, with respect for peers and the community. The teachers/administration go above and beyond to work with each student to bring out their best. Parental involvement is encouraged. The school offers a huge variety of extra curricular and sporting opportunities in a wonderful setting. My children have grown so much this year in their learning and as responsible young adults and Woodlawn is to thank for that. This is a trailblazing school in all respects."

"Many less-than-perfect aspects are probably related to the school's size and age. Academic options are VERY limited."

"Fantastic school for students interested in Humanities, Foreign Language, or Chemistry. The campus and culture are extremely unique. There's nothing like Woodlawn in the state"

"They are mostly absolutely wonderful. Almost all of them absolutely love what they teach and, perhaps most importantly, they know you insanely well."

"Woodlawn is definitely one of a kind. The small class sizes have their ups and downs. One of the positives is the tight knit bond created that resembles a family. Each class knows each member and their quirks so well it turns into one large dysfunctional family. Some say that this is the downside of Woodlawn as they think that it lacks the social scene, but the argument for that is that you make friends with people you would have never talked to before and you learn how to work with people you may not like because they are the ones around. One of my favorite traditions is Woodlawn Day because of the history behind it. The school is situated on 60 acres of old plantation land and Woodlawn Day allows students to take a step back in time and explore the history. The new students always go on a tour of the old plantation house that serves as the office building while other students play games, garden, go on nature walks, and enjoy popsicles. Each grade also comes through the gym where they learn how to square dance. A select group of high schoolers lead this. Afterwards, everyone comes back to the gym for a school wide square dance."
