"I enjoy spending time with my teachers for they are pretty fun and engaging if you take the time to get to know them. I wish the food could be much better for I sometimes rather not eat other than a fruit most days. They don't allow us to use lockers which could be very useful as well."

"This will be my fourth year at Vance High. I rated my school average because I feel as though Vance still needs improvement in some areas. I say this because in certain areas of our school doesn't have much focus on. Such as the diversity is not a big of deal because of zoning. Also the academic field is not put into much thought due to more punishment to balance out behavior and education."

"If you aren't considered a "favorite" of a staff or faculty member, then you are automatically left to find resources and help for yourself. This is unfortunate because many students have missed out on opportunities because staff members rather choose their favorites first. It's important to get involved because the staff, administrators, and teachers will do the minimum if you don't put yourself out there. This can be annoying because sometimes it's hard for students to admit they need help. Oh an I forgot to mention that I went through the whole college process all by myself without any help from the counselors or staff because they were so busy focusing on their favorites. Lucky some of the students were willing to help."

"I like that at Vance everyone is family. I think we need more opportunities for the different career paths we all wish to take, such as vocational classes."

"What I would like to see change in this school is to be more diverse and have more classes for our future careers. The school should be more straightened up and have more clubs to improve social skills. Zebulon B. Vance High School is not a horrible school, it just needs a lot of work."
