"Overall attending NHHS was good but I think a few things could be improved as far as teaching skills."

"I enjoyed the staff and the many personalities that I encountered while there. Not only was it a learning experience, but I gained a lot of life lessons that I will carry into adulthood. Cheerleading under the Friday night lights will always hold a special place in my heart and Wildcat blood will always pump through my veins. When I first walked onto the campus, I was amazed because it's size and population were so large in comparison to my last school. My parents and I were very serious about my education. When we were first introduced to the Apollo program and the long lasting Lyceum program, we were all ears. I believe the saying, "Enjoy high school while you can because you will miss it.""

"I would not want to go to any other high school in New Hanover County. My experience at New Hanover has been enriching and exciting. The school spirit is visible throughout all programs and areas- an important aspect of the "high school experience." I have met wonderful teachers and students that I've connected with and developed relationships with over my years attending New Hanover. I truly believe that school is what you make out of it, and if you make the most out of Hanover, you can graduate with experiences and knowledge incomparable to any other school around."

"New Hanover High school is rich in tradition and academics. While the math department might be lacking, the history, science, and literature departments are full of phenomenal teachers. Thanks to these teachers, I was able to score two fives and a four on my advanced placement exams. Unfortunately, the bathrooms are usually lacking in paper towels and proper door locks. If I could see one thing change about my high school, it would be how the students segregate themselves. We do this according to race and socioeconomic status. This usually prevents the poorer kids from taking advanced placement classes. I want this to change because I know intelligence is not limited by one's color or income."

"I love how New Hanover can get you ready for anything, if you're going out into the world or even going up to college they care about you a lot."
