"Wilkes Early College High School is a 5 year program in which you take high school and college classes, and once you graduate, you receive both a high school diploma and an associate s degree. It is a great program for anyone who knows what they want to do for a career, but it can be somewhat difficult for someone who doesn't really know yet. One thing I loved about the Early College program was that it was set on an actual college campus, so it helped familiarize myself with how college works and it definitely gave me a taste of how tough college can be. My main point of advice for anyone looking to apply to the program is this: Your five years here will help shape your future so please take them seriously. There will be a point where you will experience burn out, but push through it and don't give up. The Early College gives you all the tools you need to succeed, but you have to want to succeed. The hard work is well worth the reward."

"I believe that this school is one of the best in Wilkes county. It is challenging academically and really prepares you for college. At times it can be challenging, but the best thing is that you push through it. This school is not for anyone who can't handle lots of work."

"The teachers at the early college are always super friendly and ready to start class. The three years I have been at this school, not once was I mistreated or let down by any of the staff. Our school building was provided by Wilkes Community College so its very small but the teachers always have made the best of it. There is a projector in almost every class and just recently two classrooms were given a "Smart T.V." Most of the classes are student oriented which means we have our say on how things are taught. There is usually a lot of group activities resulting in better understanding on different topics. In the middle of the semester, most classes have a big project which never fails to test our knowledge but always manages to be interesting. Our college classes are also the same way and most college professors treat the early college like normal college students. Grading could be done a little faster but aside from that, it's always in a few days before the semester ends."
