"Great school for preparing for college. Lots of great people to meet. If you have any questions there is always someone to give you a full detailed answer. Every teacher in my experience is very experience with their job and know thoroughly what they are teaching. Also teachers are like your guide to getting the best grades as long as you are asking questions that will benefit on the current course you are taking."

"Decatur Central Highschool students are really always given a bad reputation. Some would say this is because we are all "ghetto" or because we "have low quality education and teachers". But the thing is that none of that is true. We do have some low quality students , but every single highschool does. We also have incredibly smart kids with 4.6 GPA's that also are involved in AP classes, clubs, sports, managaing a social life, and staying sane. And in the life of a highschool student that is incredibly difficult. I believe we have pretty good teachers that really try to connect with their students and help them as much as possible to succeed. The only downside is that I believe some of these teachers do pick favorites. Now these kids dont get higher grades or anything but are just over all treated better. That would have to be the one thing I woukd change about our school if I could."

"What I liked about Decatur Central was the work ethic the teachers showed everyday. They would stay after school, come in before school, or help us during their lunch if needed. Teachers aren't paid for all they do, because if they did they would be making close to six figures."

"Overall, not a bad experience. I had some fantastic teachers and had the opportunity to get involved. I think the school could have done a better job connecting with students though."

"Decatur needs to improve the curriculum and push students so they are more prepared for college. Homework should be due the following day or morning of school not at midnight the night of homework. Too many classes have homework due the same time and makes it difficult for a student to have any activity outside of school."
