"I loved that Rio was such a small town, it has inspired me to raise my own family in a small town. I loved that everybody knows everybody and we all treated each other like family."

"Rio could be much better. They put sports before academics which I don;t think is right. The vast majority of teachers don't care to be there, therefore are not giving the students the proper education that should be given to them. These students are not ready for college."

"The staff is incredibly helpful and nice and teachers don't mind taking the time to get to know their students and help them one on one. However, the administration is pretty aggressive. The school counselor is the best I've ever known. He's very down to earth, helpful, and goes above and beyond for the students here. We also have not practiced code blue in several years (it is our plan of action in case there is ever a school shooter). The middle schoolers and most of the high schoolers would be clueless as to what to do in that situation. We barely have fire/tornado drills. There are pretty few academic and extra curricular courses offered but the sports programs are incredible for being such a small district."

"It is the almost the end of my first quarter in my senior year, and I am very disappointed with what Rio Middle/High School has offered me. Focused mostly on athletics, Rio Middle/High School falls short on academics. Offering only one language and no real AP classes, it does not give one much to do. In addition to academics, the administration of Rio Middle/High School is aggressive and pushes ridiculous policies, negatively affecting students. Fortunately, it does have a mostly amazing teacher staff. The majority of teachers here put in a lot of effort and commitment to their students. All in all, I'd recommend those looking for schools for their children or themselves find a different school, for better opportunities."

"I had an overall great experience thanks to the helpful faculty and staff. They really do understand their fields of study and help to get you to the next level (college). Even though there were quite a bit of students who don't care and don't listen, I found this to be a great place to attend high school."
