"I loved being at Washburn. The teachers created a fun learning environment and were very good at their jobs. The student body was diverse and accepting. There was a feeling of family. I would recommend Washburn to future high school students."

"Washburn has very good academics with a lot of IB and AP options, but there is a very large gap between advanced and standard level classes so there are not many options for students who are not ready for the very rigorous AP/IB but want classes that are more challenging than the standard level classes. Classes at Washburn are also pretty racially segregated."

"I have been going to Washburn for 4 years now and I can honesty say that it has been a positive and negative experience. There are many teachers at the school who are willing to help students that are struggling; especially making time before or after school. Sadly there are a few teacher who appear to care little about students life outside of school due to their high standards they put in students. There is very little diversity in AP or IB class regarding students of minority, however this is an issue that is still trying to be solved. While Washburn High School isn't the best school, it has it quirks like all school and can always find room to improve."

"I never went to school at Washburn Senior High School. I got friend and family who went there. They like it and it's a really good school. I heard good things about teacher helping students for getting ready for college. My cousin personally likes it. It's her first year. She's a freshmen and she's doing good, has good grades, does her homework on time. My aunt is proud of her like I am. I have gone there with my friends to visit their teachers and they seem so nice. This school is one of the best i have heard of."

"Washburn has a lot of really great things to offer. I took tons of IB classes last year, and in the future the graduation requirements and new seven-period day will make it a lot easier to meet the IB diploma requirements. I've had some really great teachers, as well as a few not-so-great ones, but the good ones definitely outweigh the bad. Rhonda Dean is a fantastic principal, she's very enthusiastic about the school and everything that goes on in it. She loves talking to students and hearing feedback, has been very supportive of the arts, and makes Pep Fests actually fun to go to just be being excited."
