"A good high school. Typical for a large high school in the area. Academics are good, there are many AP courses to to choose from. The teachers are average, there are many good ones and a few that are sometimes difficult to work with. Most clubs and activities are centered around athletics. A few of the non-athletic activities include theater, yearbook, and recycling club."

"The overall experience wasn't bad. Most of the teachers know what they're talking about. The staff are willing to work with you when you have a problem."

"I like Yankton High school very much. We have many resources and computers and a wide variety of classes to take. The hallways are set up between Social Studies, Science, Math, and English so classes are very easy to find. My only complaint is the food, but I am a picky eater. Also, the parking lot doesn't fit all the students enrolled at the school so students have to park in a tennis court far away or behind the school and walk around just to have a parking spot."

"As a meek fourteen year girl going into my freshman year of high school, I was frightened and overwhelmed. Perhaps the greatest thing Yankton High School has done for me has been helping me break out of my shell. I took debate class freshman year simply because the alternative, "Speech", seemed extremely daunting. It was difficult for me to break out of my comfort zone and get up to talk in front of my entire class (no one told me you had to do that in debate class, too!) However, after I was forced to face the fear of judgement and rejection from my peers, I realized that there never really was any in the first place. I was so scared of something that didn't exist. To this day, I love being on the speech and debate team, and acting quirky in the halls. I will forever credit Yankton High School for helping me find some of my great passions, and more importantly, myself."
