"One month until the last of my three kids gets through this school. It can't come soon enough. LHS is a dream compared to HMS. We think others have asked why this school is not improved but nothing ever changes."

"Like the other review said: best day at Highland is your last day. Everyone talks about how bad the school is but nothing gets fixed. I had to teach my son how to study once he got to high school because he was so unprepared even getting almost all As at Highland. And he's taking summer school because they don't let you know that if you have the regular math at highland you can't take the normal science classes at LHS."

"There is a saying around Libertyville, 'the best day at Highland is your child's last day at Highland'. Couldn't be more true! I have no positive remarks about this school, which is sad because my children's elementary school was wonderful."

"We pulled my daughter out of Highland. Many of the teachers and principal do not do any extra stuff to try to help and sometimes made it harder for her to do well even with a 504 (you have to constantly check up because they don't follow it). Most teachers are only available for extra help for 30 minutes before school on Fridays. Some of the teachers also get paid to tutor students outside of school. She was allowed extra time for standardized testing and when she missed her next class, she still had to make up the work without having learned the material and the teacher wouldn't give her extra time or help. Some people with average kids are ok with the school but bright kids are bored and struggling kids don't get the help they need."
