"Education was based solely off of raising test scores in order to receive more funds. Bullying was a major problem ignored by administrators. Clear favoritism was shown towards local Carterville families to the point where those kids had more opportunities and were punished less severely. I m the time I ve gone to school here there have been 4 teacher sex scandals."

"I loved Carterville, as I spent my entire life there. One thing, I feel as a school they should recognize academics more that sports. For example, I graduate a semester early by taking extra classes and volunteering at the hospital because who doesn't want to get a head start on their career? In stead of recognizing me for it they basically punished me by not allowing me to go back and walk with my class in My. Mind you, throughout my entire high school career I also took advantage of dual credit classes with the local community college. That is something else no one gets recognition for. I see academics more valuable than sports because that is how most people will continue to prosper in their life."

"I like that the faculty at Carterville really care for the students and put forth a great effort to make sure that students get what they need academically. I would, however increase the diversity and have tighter control of bullying occurrences, as it has been a problem in recent years."

"I moved to Carterville starting my sophomore year, and I was welcomed and Carterville quickly became a home for me. Although the massive influx of new students is causing the place to be a little crammed, it's a pretty nice school to go to overall."

"Carterville High School is absolutely amazing! The school is well known for outstanding academics, superb fine arts and athletic programs, and a lot of school spirit and support from students and the administration. This is definitely a great school to attend while going through your high school years."
