"My child was in the school during a presidential election year, unfortunately. The teachers really pushed their own political viewpoints and railed against certain other political viewpoints and candidates. My child, whose own viewpoints differed from those of the teachers, was upset by this, and felt marginalized by it. This was unacceptable. The teachers should NOT be bringing their own political views into the school, and trying to ram it down the kid's throats! Not only that, but one of the students had differing political viewpoint from my child and she harassed my child over this and was hateful to my child for over a year. I wasn't told this until graduation. Why was their no venue in the school to deal with bullying? They mainly seem concerned only about high enrollment, and the emotional climate here is pretty cold. I helped out in the lunchroom, and many of the teachers sat on the other side of the gym together, and allowed the kids to run amuck during lunch time. The lunch tables and benches are very old and rickety, and I saw a bench collapse with a kid sitting on it, and he got hurt (not seriously), but the potential for serious injury is there, as these benches and tables fold up vertically into the wall. They did not bother to repair or replace this bad equipment, thus putting the kids in physical danger."

"The 7th and 8th grade teachers harassed my son because he was not involved in basketball and volleyball. He was growing so fast that he had Sever's disease, diagnosed by a foot specialist, yet they still harassed him. They repeatedly pressured him to do these sports. They then told him repeatedly that he didn't do enough, and even told him he was lazy! He was anything but - a straight A student and strong musician. He was involved in 2 school bands. This was completely inappropriate. It made for an unnecessarily stressful school experience. He strongly did not want me to talk to anyone at the school about this, so I respected his wishes."
